Description Summer Camp Counselor Penobscot Bay YMCA | Seasonal (June–August 2026) Looking for the best summer job ever? Requirements Job Requirements Essential Responsibilities • Supervise and actively engage a group of children throughout the camp day • Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate activities that reflect YMCA values • Maintain a safe, clean, and positive camp environment • Attend required staff meetings and trainings • Follow YMCA policies related to safety, medical needs, behavior guidance, child abuse prevention, and emergencies • Communicate positively and professionally with parents, campers, and fellow staff • Perform other duties as needed to support a successful camp season Qualifications • Preferred experience working with children (camp, babysitting, sports, tutoring, etc.) • Skills or interests in areas such as sports, outdoor recreation, arts & crafts, music, aquatics, or games are a plus • Must be at least 16 years old (minimum age may vary based on state law and YMCA policies) • CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training required within 30 days of hire (training provided) Physical Requirements This is an active job!
