The Fleet Response team's mission is to accelerate the safe deployment of Waymo's autonomous technology. Fleet Response operates at the latest of our autonomous driving operations. In certain ambiguous or complex situations, the Waymo Driver can request the assistance of human Fleet Response Operators (FROs) to provide extra context and information. Our team works at the leading edge of Waymo's technology, figuring out how to combine on-vehicle and off-vehicle resources to get our vehicles on the road faster. You will: Collaborate with other teams to help our self-driving vehicles in ambiguous or complex situations Prototype and deploy safe, and reliable solutions to real-world challenges in autonomous driving Work with our users, the Fleet Response Operations team Work on mission-critical systems and infrastructure to support Waymo's fleet Have the opportunity to work on the full length and range of the problem (web apps, distributed systems, and data analysis) You have: Must be enrolled in a BS/MS program in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience A generalist mindset, willing to learn a breadth of new skills Comfort with full-stack development Enjoy working closely with your users Comfortable with C++ and/or Typescript We prefer: Has web app development experience, familiar with modern web frameworks such as Angular or React. Familiar with distributed systems Note: This will be a hybrid onsite internship position. We will accept resumes on a rolling basis until the role is filled. The expected hourly rate for this full-time position is listed below. Interns are also eligible to participate in the Company’s generous benefits programs, subject to eligibility requirements.
