Founded over 100 years ago, Silver Bay YMCA is a mission-driven Conference and Family Retreat Center that serves 800 people per week during the summer season. Silver Bay YMCA offers a variety of programmatic activities to their guests and members including swimming, boating, fitness classes, indoor climbing, tennis, pickleball, archery, basketball, beach volleyball, hiking, lectures, string quartet concerts, and a craft studio. Seasonal employees at Silver Bay YMCA start anytime between May and mid-June and have the opportunity to stay as long as mid-November. Seasonal employees at Silver Bay YMCA range from individuals working their first job to retirees. Employees also come from all over the nation and world creating a diverse staff. Silver Bay YMCA is looking for employees to fill a wide range of fields from kitchen to administration to maintenance to program staff. International employees at Silver Bay YMCA are entitled to a variety of benefits including housing and meals for a discounted rate, access to all program areas, reciprocal passes, staff programming, scholarships, free Wi-Fi, free Laundry, discounts, membership, discounted day camp for dependents, and an amazing community of people. General Information: Silver Bay will begin placing staff for the follow season October 1st. Participants are responsible for setting up their profile on their visa website including all required documentation. When identifying your arrival and departure date, please keep in mind that we are busy through Labor Day and preference will be given to those staff whose dates best reflect the needs of the YMCA. Silver Bay does provide optional housing and meals for staff 18 years and older for a fee. Please see the Silver Bay's YMCA Seasonal Handbook for more information. Requirements To Qualify for a J-1 international staff position; You must be 18 years or older Actively enrolled in a college or university Working with a Visa sponsor that Silver Bay has a relationship with. Must be able to communicate with guests and other employees in English. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people representing all social and economic segments of the community. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: These positions require the ability to stand, walk, and kneel for prolonged periods; must be physically able to access and navigate all areas of campus. Other physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds at a time and to work in excessive heat and cold.

Seasonal employees will engage in various programmatic activities and support the operations of Silver Bay YMCA. They will work in diverse roles ranging from kitchen to administration to maintenance.
