Business Unit: American Honda Finance Corp Division: Accounting Operations Work Location: Torrance - Main Campus Location Job Purpose We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to join our Accounting Operations team. This internship offers hands-on experience and an opportunity to learn about the Accounting Operations functions within the industry. As an intern this person will provide support for our financial reporting and analytical processes related to credit loss. This position will also assist with the development, enhancement, and maintenance of financial models and reports under US GAAP and IFRS reporting standards, as well as support SOX controls and compliance requirements. Key Accountabilities Some key responsibilities and/or projects will include but not limited to Assist the Senior Financial analyst with support activities related to credit loss model administration, credit loss forecasting and reporting Support documentation, controls, reconciliations, and data validation related to SOX controls Enhance and maintain existing reports, controls and analytics Support department in processing data extracts and maintain department databases Provide general support for audits, SOX testing, and departmental initiatives related to projects and system support Qualifications, Experience, and Skills We are looking for inspiring students with diverse backgrounds and experiences, open minds, and a disciplined work ethic. As an Intern she/he must have: Seeking Jr. Sr, MBS or Masters, pursuing a degree in Finance, Business or Marketing Coursework or experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, accounting fundamentals, statistics, and economics. Exposure to US GAAP, IFRS, and/or SOX concepts is a plus Knowledge or familiarity in the following Experience with Microsoft office suite (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Familiarity with relational databases and basic querying concepts Familiarity with reporting or business intelligence tools used to analyze data Experience analyzing large data sets Exposure to tools such as SAP Business Objects, SQL, Power BI is a plus Requirements for the program Must be enrolled as a Junior, Senior, Master’s, or MBA student at an accredited college or university. Minimum GPA of 3.0. Available to work onsite at our Torrance location. Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, for a minimum duration 6–8 weeks (depending on school schedule).
