Applied Materials' VSE strategic marketing group is searching for an intern to join our team for summer 2026! Our group is specially working on patterning and implant applications in new emerging semiconductor fabrication related applications. We have state-of-the-art implant tools which are the backbone of the semiconductor industry. Through novel precise materials engineering we are advancing processes such as doping, and various material properties. The position will entail the following: Collaborate with implant material processing groups and process demonstrations, processing wafers, measuring wafers, modelling and simulating processes, analyzing results, and documentation. Participate in development projects involving wafer processing, desired metrology and present updates in group meetings. Support process engineering through procurement, shipping samples, and tracking inventory functions. 2026 Summer internship program start/end dates: Tuesday, May 26 - Friday, August 14 Monday, June 8 - Friday, August 28 Monday, June 15 - Friday, September 4 Requirements: Preference for students who are currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field in Semiconductors. Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. Hands-on expertise on thin film materials characterizations techniques such as ellipsometry, electrical IV/CV measurements, FTIR, microscopy and mechanical properties testing. Familiarity with modeling methodologies such as FEM, Monte Carlo simulations, etc. in addition to knowledge of modelling automation techniques is a big plus Compensation: $45 - $50 per hour Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
