The Qualified Medication Aide is responsible for assisting the Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurses with the administration of prescribed oral medications. RESPONSIBILITIES: Intake of prescription medication/enter dispensing instructions and count correctly in EMR. Dispense medications to campers at designated times per prescriber’s order using the 5 rights of medication administration. Chart medication administration accurately in EMR. Assist co-workers with dispensing center duties as assigned. Follows state guidelines on Universal Waste and Safety Precautions (OSHA) Communicate with parent/guardians regarding refills REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and licensed as a QMA in the State of Indiana. Responsibilities

The Qualified Medication Aide assists Licensed Practical Nurses or Registered Nurses with administering prescribed oral medications, which includes accurately entering dispensing instructions and counts into the EMR. Responsibilities also involve dispensing medications to campers following the five rights of medication administration and charting accurately.
