Position: FASD Keyworker (Permanent, Full-Time)
Location: Fort St John, BC
Hours: 35 hours/week
Salary: $27.81/hour
Start Date: ASAP

We are looking for an FASD Keyworker to join our Behavior Support Services team! Ideally, this individual will have:

  • a Bachelor’s degree with specialized training and experience working with FASD clients,
  • at least 3 years of experience working with children, youth, and families,
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (training maybe accessed through Sources),
  • and a clear criminal record check and a full Class 5 driver’s license (with a clean driving abstract).

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

Reporting to: Manager of Behavior Support Services

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driving abstract (mandatory)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (preferred)
  • 3-year’s of experience in a similar role (preferred)
  • Clear criminal record check (mandatory)
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (training maybe accessed through Sources)
Responsibilities

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain client records
  • Participates in program evaluation
  • Contributes to a strong and supportive team environment
  • Schedules and attends meetings
  • Maintain a caseload and provide direct services to families referred to the program
  • Ensures that all Society policies and procedures are followed

PROGRAM-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Empowers parents by providing them with support, resources, and information.
  • Helps families learn about relevant local, regional, and national services, resources, voluntary organization, and information agencies that are available.
  • Assists families with applications for relevant local, regional, or national services, resources, equipment, and financial support that is available.
  • Liaises with a regional health multidisciplinary assessment team.
  • Assists families with advocating for their child.
  • Develops and facilitates parent-to-parent support mechanisms and community engagement events.
