THE OPPORTUNITY

The UGDSB is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team for a temporary full-time opportunity in the capacity of Psychologist/Psychological Consultant. This is a 10-month position (yearly from Sept. – June following the school year calendar) to start September 2, 2025 with an anticipated end date of June 26, 2026 with the possibility to end earlier or extend past the anticipated end date.
The Psychologist/Psychological Consultant will be reporting to the Manager of Psychological Services and Behaviour Analysts.
Location: North Wellington Area Schools
*school location/geographical area cannot be guaranteed in perpetuity. School location/geographical area are subject to change based on student and system needs.
Hours/FTE: 1.0 FTE (35 hours per week)
Salary Range: Standard Grid - Psychologists or Psychological Associates:

Base salary: $78,219 - $98,447 (based on a 1.0 FTE full-time annual salary, wage rate effective September 1, 2025), plus applicable vacation pay, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act

  • Labour market adjustment of 14% to be applied to base salary; salary range inclusive of market adjustment is $89,170 - $112,230 per annum (based on a 1.0 FTE full-time annual salary, wage rate effective September 1, 2025), plus applicable vacation pay, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act
  • labour market adjustment may fluctuate based on local market

Qualified Ph.D. Grid - Psychologists or Psychological Associates with a Doctoral Degree:

Base salary: $81,985 - $102,303 (based on a 1.0 FTE full-time annual salary, wage rate effective September 1, 2025), plus applicable vacation pay, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act

  • Labour market adjustment of 21% to be applied to base salary; salary range inclusive of market adjustment is $99,202 - $123,787 per annum (based on a 1.0 FTE full-time annual salary, wage rate effective September 1, 2025), plus applicable vacation pay, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act
  • labour market adjustment may fluctuate based on local market

Board Information: 10 months; temporary, full time; Professional Student Services Personnel

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive psychological assessments for elementary and secondary students, urgent need response, crisis response, violence threat response to schools, behavioural and mental health consultation, programming, community liaison and school team participation.
  • The successful applicant will work collaboratively with children, the school team, families, special education support services and community agencies.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Registered Psychologist or Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists of Ontario in clinical/educational psychology will be given preference, although candidates who are able and qualified to work under supervised practice will be considered
  • A thorough knowledge of assessment, diagnosis and intervention planning for learning disabilities, developmental disorders, behavioural problems, and relevant children’s mental health issues is vital
  • Experience working for a school board or in children’s mental health is a definite asset
