Employment Type: Full-Time
Hourly Rate: $38.09 – $39.34 (WT 5A.1 to 5.4) + Educational Leader Allowance

At Busy Bees at Cranbourne North, we’re looking for a passionate and experienced early childhood professional to take on a dual role as Assistant Service Manager (2IC) and Educational Leader. This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead and mentor educators, support centre operations, and work hands-on with children every day.
This is a combined role, meaning you will be actively on the floor working alongside your team while also fulfilling leadership, compliance, and curriculum responsibilities.
About the Role

As 2IC + Educational Leader, you will:

  • Support the Centre Director in daily operations, rostering, and compliance
  • Step into the Centre Director role when required
  • Lead the educational program and mentor educators on curriculum and planning
  • Foster high-quality teaching and learning aligned with the EYLF and NQS
  • Create inclusive, engaging, and age-appropriate learning environments
  • Build respectful relationships with families, staff, and the wider community
  • Promote continuous improvement, reflective practices, and team development

What You’ll Need

  • Diploma (or higher) in Early Childhood Education and Care (ACECQA approved)
  • Previous experience as a Lead Educator, 2IC, or Educational Leader
  • Strong knowledge of the EYLF, NQS, and child development
  • Current Working with Children Check (Employee) – VIC
  • First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis training (HLTAID012 or equivalent)
  • Child Protection / Mandatory Reporting certificate
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
  • Australian work rights (Citizen, PR, or appropriate visa)
