Description SUMMARY: The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the operations, including, but not limited to: the daily operations regarding customer orders, inventories, staffing, machines efficiency, schedules, harvest, shipping, and plant management. This position directly oversees all operational personnel and works closely with Quality Control, Growing, and Maintenance departments. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the team meets deadlines, efficiency goals, quality and compliance, and customer specifications. The Supervisor will use his/her knowledge of production, capacity, and the quality requirements to execute a growing plan provided by the Production Manager. Also, the Production Supervisor will develop measures to motivate employees and undertake the task of overseeing inventory management. This position reports to the Production Manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Non-Essential Functions are preceded by an *) Manage all aspects of daily operations Assign & organize daily work tasks with all team leads and associates Ensure product availability is enough to allow timely shipping of all orders Improve process and labor efficiencies Works with the Operations Manager to establish metrics and KPIs Promote a culture of safety, assuring that all teammates perform their duties with safety being a top priority Be a servant leader so that the team is motivated to want to work as a team to meet KPI goals Provide leadership, direction, and development to the teams Lead the site in initiating and executing plans and processes which minimize production costs through effective and efficient utilization of workforce, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital. Run all customer orders to spec. with the highest quality and efficiency at the lowest possible cost Manage, record, and report produce and packaging inventories Manage and improve operational supplies, including but not limited to, inputs, supplies, and PPE Create, train, implement, and improve operating processes and procedures Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout the facility. Works closely with all other departments and create a culture of teamwork and collaboration Create a pleasant working environment in the facility that enhances employee performance and retention Other duties as assigned Requirements REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 2+ years’ leadership experience in the Food Processing, Agriculture, or Manufacturing industries. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Highly motivated, self-directed, and can work well with minimal direct supervision required. Supervisory experience strongly preferred. Basic computer skills preferred. Ability to communicate effectively in English. Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task in a high-stress environment Excellent Leadership skills and Management skills PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Associate degree (i.e., Food Science, Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, or Operations) or commensurate experience. Bi-lingual Spanish/English WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works in greenhouses or climate-controlled facility. Will be subject to varying weather conditions, including extreme heat/cold and high humidity. Will also work in a well-lighted, well-ventilated building with moderate levels of noise. May work, when necessary, beyond regular working hours, including weekends. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Extensive mobility, including the ability to move about inside greenhouses and facility. Seldom work in a seated position for extended periods during the workday. Lift 50 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to perform all job duties of processing plant personnel. Operate a laptop computer and other office equipment, including grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive motion.
