Job Title: General Labor Level: Hourly Department: Freezer/Production Reports to: Freezer Supervisor Positions Hours: 3PM-11AM SUMMARY General Labor Canning position ensures that help is given where needed to finish up production and then to set up for the next days production. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES * Keeping the floor free from production related debris by sweeping, shoveling or washing product from the floors and disposing into proper bins if needed. * Assist in completing rework as directed by supervisor . * Responsible for helping unload cans from baskets. * Safely operating a machine for Fill Room, Peanut Pad, or Freezer Greens Cutter. * Responsible for stacking cans on pallets, using the Brite Stacker. * Responsible for setting up for the next days production. * Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on production/canning needs. LANGUAGE SKILLS * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals. * Ability to communicate with others verbally and written. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS * Must have good mathematical skills including ability to use correct addition and subtraction. REASONING ABILITY * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out and interpret instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

The general laborer is responsible for maintaining a clean production floor and assisting with the setup for daily production needs. They also operate machinery and handle the stacking of cans on pallets.
