The Opportunity: Afternoon/evening Propane/Tandem Dispatcher– Reese, Michigan Full-time with benefits This is NOT a remote position Could this be you? Our DHT Logistics team is looking for a reliable, critical-thinking propane/tandem dispatcher. Our ideal candidate must be able to work an afternoon/evening Sunday through Thursday 3:30pm to 11:30pm schedule with weekend availability. The schedule is not fixed and is flexible based on the season and company needs. The propane/tandem dispatcher will be responsible for using routing software to establish daily trucking routes that make required stops outlined in customer contracts. In this role you will: • Develop daily and emergency delivery routes and maintain contact with drivers throughout the shift. • Collaborate with management to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers. • Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes. • Monitor any sudden route changes or road construction issues; work with drivers to establish new routes for timely deliveries. • Schedule and dispatch workers, equipment, and/or service vehicles to appropriate locations, according to customer requests, specifications, and needs. Requirements What you need: • High school diploma or GED. • Must be able to work an afternoon/evening schedule with weekend availability and be comfortable being on-call. Must be able to flex the schedule as the seasons and commodities change. • Strong knowledge of the roadways throughout the immediate area. • Ability to work independently within a team environment in high pressure situations. • Dispatcher experience required. *Experience in pressurized gas commodity dispatch highly preferred.
Responsibilities
