Description Description Position Overview Reports directly to the Production Manager and oversees all production employees on the assigned line while ensuring employee safety, meeting daily/weekly production schedules, and producing quality products. This position has supervisory responsibilities. Essential Functions The following duties are considered essential functions of the role. Ensure quality of products being produced by inspecting production output and working with the QA department. Monitor all product codes and code dates during production and packaging. Enforces all safety rules and regulations while coaching employees on safe work habits. Enforce all GMP rules and maintain a clean working environment. Maintain proper manpower requirements on each line. Ensure all production runs meet expected quantities as per the production schedule. Learn the abilities of all employees under direct supervision and utilize each employee to best meet the production schedule. Train employees for other positions and rotate them so the training remains fresh in their minds. Learn the operation, adjustment, and minor repairs of all production equipment. Know emergency procedures in the event of an equipment failure or safety concern. Perform other duties as assigned Ensure shift is working efficiently by controlling factors such as waste, overweight and downtime. Work Environment Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, temperature variations, dust, chemicals, and common food allergens. Use of appropriate personal protective equipment as required. Requirements Education and Experience High School Diploma or (GED) is required. Bakery experience is strongly preferred and/or a combination of education and relevant experience 3-5 years of related supervisory experience is required. 20 or more employees preferred. Proven track record of ability to lead teams in challenging environments.
