Western Smokehouse Partners is looking for a 2nd shift Processing Superintendent. This position reports to the Plant Manager. Responsibilities include making sure production staff is working at optimal levels to ensure the highest quality product as well as maintaining minimum inventory levels to fill orders as needed and to make sure all product orders are filled and shipped to customers on time. This position supervises the staff responsible for processing, packaging, and shipping finished products for the processed meats division and upholding the safety and manufacturing standards of the company. Summary of essential job functions Oversee the day-to-day operations and manage all aspects of the business to achieve efficiency, yield, quality, safety, food safety, productivity, profitability, on time delivery and continuous improvement. Observe and evaluate performance of workers to ensure conformance of processing standards. Attend daily meetings to discuss schedule attainment. Monitor, measure and report on production related process performance. Make sure production paperwork is complete, accurate and turned in daily. Work closely with Production Supervisors and Leads to ensure production goals are being met. Create and implement changes or improvements as needed. Manage conflicts in scheduling, prioritization, and resourcing. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum requirements Minimum three years’ experience in processed meats field. Minimum two years supervising experience. Management Skills – planning, organizing, directing, goal setting, control development and decision-making. Human Relations Skills – leadership, coaching, teaching, training of employees and evaluations of employee work habits. Solid mathematical, verbal and written communication skills. Abilities required The ability to lift to 50 lbs. The ability to work as part of a team. The ability to maintain focus while carrying out repetitive tasks. The ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
