Job Details Job Location: Lafayette Steel Sales of Indianapolis - Indianapolis, IN 46202 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: Day Shift Job Category: Manufacturing Principal Objective of Position: Plans, organizes, leads, and directs maintenance activities & systems to optimize equipment effectiveness and to maintain warehouse facilities. Ensure that maintenance personnel execute procedures, processes, work instructions, etc. in the manner prescribed, while operating in a team based environment. Essential Functions: The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Coaches and leads the maintenance workforce Maintain all equipment and facilities necessary to perform work Required utilization of computer systems, databases, data entry, record maintenance, electronic purchase order creation. Diagnose problems, read prints or schematics, order parts and repair machinery with little supervision Adhere to all safety procedures Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather Must be able to work flexible hours or shifts, including evenings and weekends when required with little or no supervision Acts as liaison with outside contractors Work with wide variety of equipment Perform electrical, painting, and/or carpentry repairs of fixtures and equipment on company premises Other Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Must be a competent welder and torch operator. Must be familiar with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components. Able to disassemble, evaluate, repair and reassemble components back to manufacturer’s specifications. Ability to use computers, printers and other associated equipment Ability to complete transactions in Microsoft Dynamics AX (training available) Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Responsibilities
The Production Maintenance Lead plans, organizes, leads, and directs maintenance activities to optimize equipment effectiveness and maintain warehouse facilities. They coach and lead the maintenance workforce while ensuring adherence to safety procedures.
