Description Position Summary: The Quality Control Technician I plays a critical hands-on role in ensuring food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance at Home Run Inn Pizza’s manufacturing facility. The QC Tech I performs inspections on ingredients, in-process products, and finished products to ensure that internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory requirements are met. Location: Frozen Pizza Production Plant. 1300 Internationale Pkwy, Woodridge, IL60517 Schedule: 2:00pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday with occasional weekends based on department needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Monitor and verify CPs, CCPs, cGMPs, and Sanitation activities Performs quality inspection and verification activities to ensure all standards are met Supports and promotes a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with all workplace health and safety requirements and reinforcing safe behaviors across the team. Fulfills responsibilities as outlined in the company safety program, complying with all safety and GMP requirements. Monitor compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety protocols Perform environmental monitoring, allergen verification, pre-operational inspections and hold/release activities Maintain accurate QC records, including test results, deviations, and corrective actions. Identify, document, and escalate food safety or quality concerns Verifies calibration of equipment in accordance with company quality procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results. Participate in root cause analysis for non-conformances and support corrective actions and preventive measures (CAPA) Work cross-functionally with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams Promote a culture of food safety, accountability, and continuous improvement Other duties as assigned. Requirements 2+ years experience in food manufacturing or quality control preferred Experience working in USDA and FDA regulated facilities Working knowledge of HACCP, cGMPs, and FDA/USDA food safety regulations Able to Speak, Read, and Understand English. Has basic Word and Excel experience. Able to analyze and interpret information. Uses good time management and decision-making skills to assist key personnel in resolving incidents in real time. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to stand, walk, and lift to 50lbs for extended periods Preferred HACCP, SQF, or GFSI certification Experience working with FDA/USDA Inspectors Familiarity with frozen food or pizza production Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus Food Allergen at the Plant: Wheat and Dairy Home Run Inn Pizza is a fourth-generation family business that competes in both the restaurant and frozen food industries.
