Job Title: Supervisor I-DC Shipping Level: Hourly Department: Distribution Center HOURS: 2PM-11:30PM The McCall Farms Supply Chain team is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of purchasing, warehouse, distribution, and logistics solutions. They manage labor costs, personnel productivity, inventory levels, data accuracy, stocking strategies, order accuracy, and customer satisfaction. They measure and report on the effectiveness of departmental activities and operations. As part of the Supply Chain team, the Supervisor I for DC Shipping will supervise a team of hourly associates, primarily on one shift, responsible for the picking, staging, and loading of all customer orders safely and accurately. Duties also include completing monthly safety training, review picking and loading transactions for accuracy, maintain a clean and safe work environment, continuous improvement projects, etc. Safety: The Supervisor I- DC Shipping is fully responsible for safety, implementing policies/procedures and upholding company policies. The supervisor will also be training and developing subordinates. While following all safety policies, this means:  Be cautious while walking in and around the warehouse due to the high volume of forklift traffic  Ensure all staff members are following all safety policies  Maintain a clean working environment  Track Monthly Safety Training  Monitor all employees to ensure that bump caps/hard hats and safety vests are clean and worn by all who enter. All Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safety Policies must always be followed while on McCall Farms property. Any unsafe conditions or acts are required to be reported to Management. Job Requirements: Must be able to:  Must be able to work flexible hours may include Saturdays and Sundays, Night or Day.  Focus will be on 2nd shift with overtime required.  Minimum 1-2 years in a Manufacturing/Distribution environment with Supervisor experience.  Lift 20-lbs to 40-lbs (a two-man lift is suggested for anything over this amount).  Stand and Sit for long periods of time.  Must be able to adapt to changes that will better themselves and the company.  Possess and demonstrate good, detailed communication skills, verbal, written, and interpersonal.  Present and maintain positive work ethics.  Provide good attendance in accordance with the Attendance and Punctuality Policy.  Strong investigative, problem solving and analytical skills.  Excellent Documentation Skills.  Possess business computer literacy skills (word, spreadsheets, database software) with strong emphasis in Excel, MRP, ERP (Sage), and Mobe3 WMS.  Perform independent work related to projects and/or routine activities.  Meet deadlines and work under pressure with limited supervision.  Work well in a team environment and foster teamwork to get results.  High level of attention to detail.  Review reports and other documentation for accuracy and logic.  Supervise hourly associates at varying job levels.  Demonstrate solid investigative and communication skills knowing when to engage others to resolve issues or to communicate and resolve issues before they become problems.  Solid understanding of the manufacturing processes in order to assist in the root cause assessment of issues or the correction of those issues in the realm of processing rework. Food Safety: SOPs Required:  GMP Training  Color Coding Policy  Food Security Training for Food Plant Operators  Food Material Handling, Transfer & Storage  Outbound Goods & Services  Stock Rotation  Wood Control Policy  Ingredient (Allergen) Storage & Segregation Quality:  Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees.  Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.  Oversee and coach employees.  Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance.  Submit reports on performance and progress (metrics for aging inventory, cycle counting, warehouse audits).  Identify issues with inventory accuracy and suggest improvements.  Train new employees on how to put away inventory using Mobe3/Sage.  Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards.  Yearly Cost Reduction projects. Reports and Paperwork: The Supervisor I is required to maintain reports and paperwork as part of the position’s job requirement. Some of the required paperwork and functions listed below but not limited to:  Daily Attendance  AOR Audits  Performance Specific Daily Responsibilities: • Adheres to company policies and safety guidelines. • Verifies that documents are correct and complete required paperwork. • Verifies that department is set up to meet the labor standard specifications. • Monitor employee performance, conduct performance reviews, and administer disciplinary actions as needed. • Safety: Conduct accident investigations and generate proper documentation. • Perform work in a fast-paced environment and maintain production requirements. • Maintain knowledge, understanding and adherence to safety policies, USDA, GMP’s, QA, HACCP, Sanitation rules and regulations, and company policies. • Design strategies to minimize the cost or time required for each process to include but not limited to Clerical, Picking, Loading, Audits, etc. • Present performance data to management. • Propose improvements to management that will improve inventory, picking, loading accuracies. • Assist management with the design and implementation of SOP’s for all processes. • Coach, assess, evaluate, develop, motivate, and empower others. • Assist with preparing annual budgets for headcount and department needs. • Monitor headcount and over-time to ensure adherence to department budget. • Required to have at least intermediate excel skills (advanced excel skills preferred). • Perform all other duties as assigned by the DC’s Director and/or Superintendent. Additional Performance Requirements: You will be asked by your Director/Superintendent to perform collateral duties as needed. Collateral duties are various tasks unrelated and/or related to your job function. Also, you may be assigned to different work areas when needed, however, cross training will be provided prior to the assignment or at time of the assignment. Constant Continuous Improvement projects. Self-Motivated and capable of self-prioritizing given the constant changes and conflicting requests. Additional Training/Certifications:  Forklift Certification Required
