The Weiss-Aug Group’s Elk Grove Village location, Diemasters Mfg., is seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Material Handler who will safely transport heavy materials such as tools, coils, supplies, and finished goods using a forklift, electronic pallet jack, hand pallet jack, or carry by hand. Responsibilities: Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations. Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information. Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy. Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule. Transport and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods using a forklift, electronic pallet jack, pallet jack, or carry by hand When problems arise internally, material handler will resolve issues or make corrections. Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements 5 years of experience driving a forklift 2 years of Stamping Manufacturing experience Safely loading and unloading heavy coils Safely removing tools from a press and placing into assigned locations Safely dumping metal scrap from scrap hoppers Maintain production flow w/minimal down time Be able to multitask and be a team player Been certified as a forklift driver Excellent verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Understands instructions and has the ability to follow through on those instructions. Good math and written communication skills. Must be proficient on a computer and is able to learn proprietary software. Efficient time management skills. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting on a forklift Prolonged periods of standing while sorting. Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds at a time Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or other formal training in related field preferred. At least five years of related experience required
