Description Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Weld Shop Supervisor to help oversee our welding operations. The ideal candidate will have strong welding skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to lead a team effectively. Key Responsibilities: · Supervise and coordinate the activities of welders and welding support staff. · Ensure all welding work meets quality standards and project specifications. · Train and mentor welding staff, providing guidance on best practices and safety procedures. · Collaborate with PM, client engineers and other stakeholders as needed to maximize efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction. · Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. · Maintain welding equipment and ensure it is in good working condition. · Develop and implement welding procedures and protocols. · Collaborate with other departments to ensure project timelines are met. · Enforce safety regulations and promote a safe working environment. · Supervise a team including approving time and attendance, performance management · This position will generally be a 50/50 split of your time – half operating, half in supervisory tasks Requirements · Proven experience as a welder, 5+ years MIG and TIG preferred · Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and equipment. · Excellent leadership and communication skills. · Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and welding symbols. · Understanding and willingness to utilize Lean manufacturing strategies to improve efficiency and minimize waste. · Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
