ABOUT US
The Hatter Cardiovascular Institute (HCI) is part of the UCL’s Institute of Cardiovascular Science (ICS). The HCI is internationally renowned for its pioneering research investigating ways to protect the ischaemic heart from injury and continues to lead research in the areas of cardioprotection.
Applications are invited for two 1.0 FTE Research Fellow posts funded by a 5 year British Heart Foundation grant, investigating PI3 kinase isoforms in acute cardioprotection and neuroprotection. The research programme will specifically focus on a novel, direct, intracellular activator of PI3Kα called UCL-TRO-1938, which has been developed by our team and has shown to significantly reduce injury in the heart and brain.
