JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable 3.5 Ton Driver / Removals Porter to join our team. Work is primarily based in Coventry and surrounding region but national UK travel and overnight work is available. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our business by performing various duties related to the transporting, loading and delivering of customers belongings. This role requires a proactive individual with strong public facing communication skills, some furniture disassembly and reassembly, skills, and a good understanding of driving, a knowledge of the UK roads and a level of fitness.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, with a valid driver’s licence.
  • Familiarity with commercial driving practices and house moving is advantageous.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge to assist in vehicle maintenance tasks.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and management.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and initiative.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the transportation of house belongings, such as furniture and white goods within the UK using appropriate vehicles, including small vans, 3.5 Ton vans, 7.5 ton and 18 ton Lorrys.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage deliveries and collections, ensuring timely and accurate handling of items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in all areas of the facility, including warehouses and storage spaces.
  • Collaborate with team members to facilitate efficient operations and communicate any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Utilise driving skills to operate various vehicles safely, adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies.
