ABOUT THE POSITION:

Currently, Technica is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our growing team as a 310S Automotive Technician in Mine Development. There is currently one (1) open position in Timmins, Ontario to support our long-term, development project. We are actively seeking to fill this role.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed 310S Automotive Service Technician
  • Surface Common Core or equivalent provincial designation is preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ underground experience is preferred
  • Strong diagnostic skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Strong technical aptitude to use digital platforms used for work orders, email, etc.
  • High level of self-motivation and autonomy
  • Ability to work as a team and independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
  • Familiar with CAT, Epiroc, and/or MacLean equipment is preferred
Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on light-duty underground vehicles (e.g., personnel carriers, utility trucks, service vehicles) in mining conditions
  • Conduct pre-use inspections and routine servicing of fleet vehicles to ensure safe operation underground
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using scan tools and onboard diagnostics
  • Complete repairs on braking systems, suspension, drivetrains, lighting, HVAC, and electrical systems under mining safety standards
  • Perform test drives and function checks underground to validate repairs
  • Accurately document all work performed in maintenance systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal reporting requirements
  • Order and track parts and supplies to minimize repair time and support ongoing fleet availability
  • Coordinate with underground supervisors, maintenance planners, and other trades to align repair work with operational needs
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas in underground shops or field locations
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with provincial trade regulations, mining safety standards, and company policies
