Description

SUMMARY

The 310T Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining company trucks and trailers to ensure safe and efficient operation in compliance with all company, provincial, and federal safety standards. This role may also involve service work for third-party equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 310T Truck & Coach Technician License
  • 3–5 years of experience as a licensed 310T Mechanic
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong mechanical abilities in electrical, hydraulic, and diagnostic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and compliance regulations.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • High attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and time management.
Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks and trailers, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, hydraulics, electrical, and related systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, battery checks, and adjustments.
  • Complete work orders accurately, including recording time and materials used.
  • Use hand and power tools (e.g., pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, diagnostic instruments, jacks, hoists).
  • Test drive and inspect equipment to ensure proper repair and performance.
  • Recondition or replace parts such as pistons, bearings, gears, valves, electrical systems, and fuel systems.
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment or accessories as required.
  • Support and provide guidance to apprentices when needed.
  • Adhere to company and WSIB safety policies and report unsafe conditions or incidents promptly.
  • Stay current with new repair techniques, diagnostic methods, and safety standards.
