Description

T. Musselman Excavating is currently looking for an experienced and licensed 310T to join our team! The 310T Truck and Coach Technician is part of our growing shop team, supporting a fleet of trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment across our group of construction companies.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 310T Truck and Coach Technician License (Ontario)
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy trucks and/or heavy equipment
  • Strong diagnostic skills with electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and repair software
  • Experience conducting MTO safety inspections and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Ability to work independently and take direction with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in welding and fabrication is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to mentor apprentices or junior mechanics
  • Valid Ontario’s driver’s license (DZ or AZ preferred)

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of diesel and gas-powered vehicles and equipment including dump trucks, specialty trucks, and heavy equipment.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance such as oil and filter changes, fluid level checks, tire inspections and rotations, and general system inspections to minimize downtime.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, air, and electronic systems to identify faults or damage.
  • Perform and/or assist with repairs and rebuilds on major vehicle components including engines, transmissions and braking systems.
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to accurately identify issues and complete repairs efficiently.
  • Complete comprehensive vehicle safety inspections and ensure all equipment meets MTO standards and any other applicable regulations
  • Complete work orders, maintenance logs, part orders, and inspection reports to support documentation, compliance, and internal tracking.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are used and stored properly, and all safety protocols are followed.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics, apprentices, and shop helpers to prioritize work, reduce equipment downtime, and support efficient shop operations.
  • Perform other duties as required.
