JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: 310T Truck & Coach Mechanic
Reporting to: Shop Supervisor/ Company Owners
Hours: 6:00am - 4:30pm - Possible shift work
Location: TBell Nairn Shop

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid 310T Truck and Coach License.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Minimum 2 years leadership experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Paccar, Detroit, Cummins computer programs (preferred)
  • Experience with Chip Trailers, Float Trailers and various brands of Tractor’s
  • Kenworth / Western Star / Mack / Volvo / International experience an asset

Other:

  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to perform service calls
  • Oversee shop repairs
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

THE ROLE OF THE MECHANIC IS TO ENSURE EFFECTIVE OPERATION OF VARIOUS ON / OFF HIGHWAY EQUIPMENT BY MAINTAINING, TROUBLESHOOTING AND REPAIRING COMPONENTS WHERE REQUIRED AND TO CARRY OUT ALL DUTIES IN A SAFE AND EFFICIENT MANNER.

  • Assist apprentices’ with repair of a mixed fleet of equipment.
  • Assist with prioritizing and delegating work amongst shop mechanics.
  • Perform preventative maintenance such as inspections, lubricating, oil changes and failure analysis.
  • Diagnose faults and malfunctions and carryout necessary repairs including major component replacement and repair or rebuild.
  • Comply with all Safety, Health, Environmental and other policies, procedures and requirements.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
