Description

A municipal Fleet Services division in Guelph, ON, is hiring a 310T Truck and Coach Technician to inspect, maintain, and repair light and heavy-duty fleet vehicles. Licensed techs are preferred, but Level 2 or 3 apprentices will be considered. Apply now to join a steady, well-supported shop with long-term opportunity.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required:
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Valid Class ‘CZ’ driver’s licence or ability to obtain one within a specified period.
  • Clean driving record with no suspensions under the Highway Traffic Act or Criminal Code in the last 5 years.
  • Preferred:
  • Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician License.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 apprentice status in the 310T program with Skilled Trades Ontario.
  • Apprentices must register with Skilled Trades Ontario within 60 days of hire and submit their 310T logbook if already registered.
  • Additional certification such as 310S Automotive Service Technician is considered an asset.

SJ1 Compensation:

  • $41.20/hr – 310T Truck and Coach Technician (licensed)
  • $35.02/hr – Apprentice Level 3
  • $32.96/hr – Apprentice Level 2
Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair light and heavy-duty fleet vehicles, including diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, brake systems, steering, and electrical components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, oil changes, lubrication, tire service, and battery checks.
  • Ensure all repairs meet safety and performance standards in compliance with fleet policies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment follow all shop safety procedures.
  • Apprentices will support tasks under the guidance of a licensed 310T Journeyperson Technician.
  • Complete other assigned duties as required.
