Description Mt. Olive Pickle seeks a reliable Forklift Operator for our Goldsboro location to safely move finished goods and raw materials across the production and warehouse areas, support shipping/receiving, and help maintain inventory accuracy for fast, food-grade operations. This role emphasizes safety, certification, and teamwork. Work Schedule: Monday - Saturday (during peak season), 4:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. **schedule may vary based on the needs of the department SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES Operates forklift in a pedestrian area to transport items from Finished Goods staging area to warehouse storage area. Maintains accurate record of finished goods transported. Keeps storage area in warehouse in a neat and orderly fashion. Reports all forklift damage to supervisor. Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate. Receives written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and performs other duties as directed by Supervisor. Note: Ability to read and write needed. Basic understanding of addition, subtraction, and the multiplication table is required. The worker must have visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle or heavy equipment. Worker must have hand/eye/foot coordination to operate forklift. Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady forces in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward. Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion. Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound. Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is related for light work. The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment WORKING CONDITIONS Works inside plant and warehouse, subject to significant seasonal temperature variations and fumes from forklifts. Some contact with dust, oil, and grease. Head cover, ear plugs, safety glasses, cut resistant gloves and steel toe shoes required.
Responsibilities
