• ESSA – minimum qualification requirements:
• Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent AND
• Possess either:
• 
  
  
  
• An Associates’ (or higher) degree; OR

• 48 credit hours completed at an Institution of High Education; OR
• Scored 464 or higher on the ParaPro Test

**NAEYC – educational qualification requirements:

• Possesses 12 college credits in certain early childhood/elementary education courses OR holds a CDA credential from the Council for Professional Recognition AND

• Completed one of the following:

• • An Associates’ (or higher) degree in early childhood education or certain related fields; OR
• Possesses an Associates’ (or higher) degree in another area AND has worked or 3+ years in a NAEYC-Accredited program OR
• Possess an Associates’ degree (or higher degree) in another area AND has worked for 3+years in a non-NAEYC Accredited program AND had at least 30 contact hours of relevant training during the past three years.
