NOV South Africa is seeking a talented 3D Modeling Specialist to join our team based in Gqeberha (PE). You will be responsible for converting high-poly CAD models into optimized low-poly models for use in our simulator environment. Our simulators recreate complex oil-rig environments with a high level of realism, enabling teams to train, test , and operate more safely in high-risk conditions. Key Responsibilities Convert high-poly CAD models to production-ready low-poly models Optimize 3D assets for simulator performance and integration Collaborate with engineering and simulation teams Maintain quality standards and technical specifications Required Qualifications, Experience & Skills: Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in computer science or equivalent Experience: Minimum 3 years creating 3D models, animations, visual effects, and digital content with professional 3D graphics software Experience in simulator or gaming environments Technical competencies: Strong proficiency in 3D modeling software (3ds Max preferred) Or strong proficiency with alternative 3D applications: Blender; Houdini; Maya Proven experience converting CAD models to game-ready assets Excellent attention to detail and technical accuracy Knowledge of Inventor or AutoCAD Solid understanding of polygon optimization techniques Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a technical laboratory or workshop environment. Comfortable working with complex technical systems and equipment.
