SUMMARY:

The 3PL – Operations Manager will provide overall leadership to our Olive Branch Warehouse Operation. The Manager will build and develop a solid relationship with our strategic partner. The Manager will be responsible for delivering a “best in class” service level. Job Role/Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership to the warehouse operation.
  • Oversee the daily operations and processes for the distribution center.
  • Develop processes and procedures, then monitor them to ensure the highest level of warehouse efficiency.
  • Manage and troubleshoot inbound/outbound activities.
  • Meet or exceed customer service levels on a daily basis.
  • Focus on continuous improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency.
  • Analyze data and reporting to ensure we are meeting service level requirements. Make appropriate adjustments as needed.
  • Create, maintain and review reporting metrics to identify opportunities to improve service levels.
  • Understand complexities of the supply chain structures and apply analytic thinking to resolve issues.
  • Work with our strategic partner to strategize plans to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Be a change agent by building strong rapport and morale with the warehouse team.
  • Create a collaborative team environment.
  • Be present on warehouse floor to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Identify employee skills and develop them by coaching and counseling on a regular basis.
  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
  • Coordinate with HR on hiring, employee issues, disciplining, payroll and other HR issues.
  • Assign duties, ensure accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of team.
  • Manage and manipulate inventory, monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate inventory.
  • Ensure all employees follow safety protocols and associated record keeping, including material handling of certifications and licensures.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have at least 3 years’ prior 3PL leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management or logistics, is preferred. Experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 5 years’ experience managing a large staff, preferably in a distribution or logistics environment.
  • Must be able to interact with team members and develop solid working relationships.
  • Proficient working with Microsoft products.
  • Warehouse management system (WMS)experience is needed, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proactively analyze issues and find resolution. Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, squat twist or turn multiple times a day.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
