Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in a permanent, direct-hire position. This role is a great fit for a 3rd or 4th-year Electrical Apprentice or a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in a manufacturing facility.
In this role, you will be responsible for a wide variety of maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on advanced industrial equipment. You will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact within a busy, highly automated environment. We are looking for a proactive, hands-on professional who is ready to take on challenges and grow with our team.
Location: Edmonton, AB
Shift: Monday to Friday, 4:30 PM to 1:00 AM
Compensation: Journeyman Electrician: $42/hour, 3rd Year Apprentice: $34–$35/hour

QUALIFICATIONS

Journeyman Electrician Diploma/Certification or a 3rd/4th-year Electrical Apprentice.
3-5 years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, including low and high voltages (5VDC to 600VAC).
Strong understanding of PLC’s, HMI’s, and VFD’s.
Knowledge and experience in mechanical systems, including the ability to diagnose, repair, and replace motors, gearboxes, and bearings.
Experience with pneumatic systems (diagnosing, repairing, and replacing manifolds, valve packs, and cylinders).
Experience with hydraulic systems (diagnosing, repairing, and replacing manifolds, valve packs, cylinders, and hoses).
Excellent computer skills for documentation and diagnostics.
A proactive, safety-first mindset with strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Work with various equipment, including VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), controls, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces).
Perform repairs and modifications according to work orders and schematics.
Read and interpret electrical schematics and understand circuit functionality.
Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and uphold a high level of organization in the shop.
Collaborate with production supervisors to minimize disruptions and support continuous improvement projects.
