OVERVIEW

We seek skilled and dedicated Truck Driver to join our team on the Aldi Contract in Sawley. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries, and will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules efficiently.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for Temperature controlled trailer
  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within the transport industry.
  • Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure your vehicle is roadworthy at the start of your shift. (reporting any defect found to the line manager)
  • Checking your load before loading it onto your trailer and load using an MHE (Training Given) before delivering it to a store in the midlands,
  • Unloading your trailer at sort using a store EPT (Training Given), ensuring that it is all correct and placed in the right location ( full training will be given)
  • Collecting any emptying or returns and bringing them back to the RDC
  • Repeat procedure.
  • Once your day is complete, finish by completing a full inspection of your equipment (reporting any new defects to your line manager)
