ABOUT THE POSITION:

Currently, Technica is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our growing team as a 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic in Mine Development. There is currently one (1) open position in Timmins, Ontario to support our long-term, development project. We are actively seeking to fill this role.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Certification is required
  • Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core (U0000, U0001, U0002, & U00012) or equivalent provincial designation is preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ underground experience is preferred
  • Strong diagnostic skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Strong technical aptitude to use digital platforms used for work orders, email, etc.
  • High level of self-motivation and autonomy
  • Ability to work as a team and independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
  • Familiar with CAT, Epiroc, and/or MacLean equipment is preferred
Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on underground mobile mining equipment (e.g., scoop trams, jumbos, haul trucks, bolters, etc.)
  • Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with OEM and safety standards
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections and perform routine equipment checks in accordance with underground safety protocols
  • Test repaired equipment in-field and/or in-shop to verify proper functionality and adherence to manufacturer specifications
  • Accurately complete work orders, service reports, and maintenance logs, both underground and on surface
  • Source and order necessary parts, tools, and materials to complete repair tasks efficiently
  • Follow daily maintenance line-ups and prioritize work based on equipment criticality and production needs
  • Operate within the confines of underground environments, adhering strictly to site safety policies, mine regulations, and environmental procedures
  • Collaborate with shift supervisors, underground operators, and other trades to minimize downtime and maintain production targets
  • Utilize computerized diagnostic equipment and tools to support advanced troubleshooting
