Description Summary Safely operates forklift and computerized scanning equipment to select and gather finished goods according to written order. Duties and Responsibilities Essential functions Completes Pre-Operational Checklist each day before operating lift. Reports all forklift damage or malfunction to supervisor. Operates forklift always at a reasonable and prudent speed, watching closely for pedestrians or other motorized vehicles. Operates forklift and computerized scanning equipment to select and gather finished goods according to written order. Pulls and stacks cases by hand as needed. Selects finished goods by established code date plan. Accurately records code dates on bill of lading. Transports items to outgoing staging area. Checks order against items pulled to ensure accuracy. Assures that staged load is clean and wrapped for shipment. Maintains accurate records of orders picked. Operates pallet inverter and shrink wrap machine. Operates forklift to unload finished goods moving between warehouses. Cleans floor of warehouse, trailers, loading docks, and exterior areas around warehouse. Keeps warehouse in kept in a clean and orderly fashion. Stoops, bends and carries approximately 60 pounds in some job tasks. Follows safety rules and company policies. Other duties Performs the duties of Warehouse General Forklift Operator and Warehouse Rework Laborer upon occasion. Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate. Receives written or verbal instructions from supervisor on above tasks and performs other work as directed by supervisor. Supervisory Responsibilities None Machines, Equipment, Tools Used Forklift, Stretch Wrap Machine, Calculator, Air Hose, computerized scanning equipment, Steel Toed Shoes. Physical Demands Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a high position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound.
