We are seeking qualified individuals for 4th Class Power Engineer. Please note that this is not a fly-in, fly-out position and will be based in Labrador West, NL. This position will require candidates to work a 7-days on/7-days off (days and nights) 12-hour rotation. Financial relocation assistance is provided if required.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with bunker c burner systems, air dryers, steam heat exchangers, air dryers, fans, pumps, and ore handling equipment such as conveyors, feeders and dust collectors.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with an ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Excellent work ethic and attendance record.
  • Able to work 12-hour shifts, 7 on, 7 off (days and nights)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Secondary School (Required)
Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safe and proper operation of industrial burner systems for fluidized bed ore dryers, centrifugal blowers, heat exchangers, steam heating coils, condensate collection systems, air dryers, fans, pumps, conveyor belts, feeders and dust collectors.
  • Monitor Dryer Building instrumentation and adjust (using computerized and non-computerized control systems) various equipment control parameters (temperature, pressure, flow rates) to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.
  • Complete all required log entries, records and reports accurately and on-time.
  • Check, inspect, monitor, and maintain the operational integrity of Dryer Building equipment by troubleshooting and following up on all equipment failures in a timely manner, inclusive of minor repairs.
  • Collaborate with other departments as required to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Performs all required duties safely, efficiently and within required housekeeping, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Respond to emergency situations, providing timely and appropriate resolution.
