Reading and Math Interventionist Location: Berkeley Preparatory Academy Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt Reports To: Principal Position Overview: The Reading and Math Interventionist works with students who need additional support in reading and mathematics. This role involves providing targeted interventions to help students improve their skills and achieve academic success. Key Responsibilities: * Assess students’ reading and math levels to determine areas of need. * Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction to support struggling students. * Develop individualized intervention plans to address students’ specific learning gaps. * Track student progress and adjust interventions as necessary. * Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure that interventions align with classroom instruction. * Provide regular feedback to students, teachers, and parents regarding progress. * Maintain accurate records of student performance and intervention activities. * Participate in professional development to stay current with intervention strategies and best practices. * Any other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field. * Valid South Carolina teaching certification. * Experience in teaching or intervention in reading and/or mathematics. * Strong organizational and communication skills. * Knowledge of intervention strategies and tools for reading and math. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively; sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and instructional materials.
