Description

We are seeking a reliable and experienced 5-Ton Truck Driver to join our logistics and delivery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy-duty deliveries, excellent communication skills, and a working knowledge of hand tools and basic assembly. This role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently to client sites, occasionally assisting with unloading and assembly of products.
Job Type: Full Time, Long Term: Temp to Perm
Schedule: Monday to Friday, possibility to work on the weekends as well
Pay Rate: $28/hr

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Class 5 or 3 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience driving a 5-ton truck or similar heavy vehicle.
  • Prior experience in heavy-duty delivery and handling large items.
  • Basic knowledge and hands-on experience with hand tools.
  • Ability to perform light assembly work (e.g., furniture or equipment setup).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy items (up to [insert weight] lbs/kgs).
  • Flexible schedule, including occasional weekends or overtime as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in logistics, warehousing, or furniture/appliance delivery.
  • Familiarity with GPS systems and route planning software.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a 5-ton truck to deliver goods and equipment to commercial and residential customers.
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
  • Load and unload delivery items safely, ensuring items are secured for transport.
  • Assemble delivered products using hand tools as required.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members to ensure timely and professional service.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain required signatures.
  • Follow company procedures and safety regulations at all times.
  • Report any delivery issues, delays, or vehicle maintenance needs promptly.
