Responsibilities: GENERAL PURPOSE: Functions as a new graduate nurse with less than one year of experience. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, continues to build competency in the provision of direct patient care. Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level. Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services. FT/PT positions available, D/E/N, 8 & 12-hour shifts, holiday, and weekends per unit policy, on-call responsibilities. New graduates and experienced nurse’s welcome! This is an excellent unit to learn about various neurological diseases while utilizing your nursing and critical thinking skills. Work with our interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment caring for patients with stroke, epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain Barre Syndrome and more! Being a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center and the only Level 4 Epilepsy Monitor Unit in our region, we see many acute and complex patients. As a Level 4 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, we work with a specialty team to evaluate, diagnose, and treat seizures using state-of-the-art continuous video EEG technology. As a nurse on this unit, you will become NIH Stroke Scale trained and certified and will receive continuing stroke education annually. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team that values nurses’ skills, talents, and compassion for our patient population.
