Job Title: Video Editor Type: Full-time; Remote Schedule: US Time zone Role Overview: This role exists to drive growth. As Video Editor, your primary responsibility is turning raw footage, UGC, product clips, and concepts into high-performing ad creative across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and other paid channels. Your work will be judged by one thing first: does it stop the scroll and hold attention. You will be deeply embedded in paid media and growth. This is not a passive editing role. We expect you to understand consumer psychology, storytelling, pacing, hooks, and retention curves, and to continuously improve creative based on performance feedback. Responsibilities & Role Ownership Performance Ad Editing Edit short-form and mid-form video ads optimized for Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and other performance channels Slice and repurpose long-form and UGC content into multiple high-impact ad variations Continuously test different hooks, openers, pacing, captions, and CTAs Optimize edits specifically for watch time, engagement, and conversion Creative Strategy & Storytelling Apply strong storytelling frameworks within short time constraints Build clear narratives that hook early, maintain attention, and drive action Understand what makes effective thumb-stoppers and retention-driven ads Collaborate with growth and creative teams to translate concepts into executable ads Iteration & Optimization Iterate quickly based on performance data and feedback Identify patterns in winning ads and systemize what works Kill underperforming creative fast and replace it with improved variations Maintain a high-volume creative output without sacrificing quality Brand & Product Content Support occasional brand or product-focused videos when needed Ensure all content feels consistent with brand standards while still being performance-driven Balance creativity with clarity and compliance where required Requirements & Expectations This role is for a performance editor, not a traditional video editor. You should have: Proven experience editing direct-response or performance ad creative Strong understanding of consumer psychology, hooks, and storytelling Experience editing for Meta and TikTok specifically Ability to turn raw, imperfect footage into compelling, high-performing ads Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-output environment Willingness to test, fail, learn, and iterate quickly You will succeed here if you: Obsess over the first 1–3 seconds of a video Think in terms of retention, pacing, and engagement Are driven by results, not just creative expression Can take direct feedback and improve fast Enjoy moving quickly and shipping often Requirements & Expectations This role is for a performance editor, not a traditional video editor.
