POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) to lead and support initiatives that ensure the delivery of high-quality products, services, and documentation across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of quality frameworks, auditing practices, and continuous improvement methodologies. They should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of driving compliance with internal standards and client requirements. This role requires someone who can influence across teams, identify gaps, and execute process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDING CERTIFICATES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience with a strong emphasis on quality control and assurance.
  • Hands-on experience developing and implementing QA/QC processes, tools, and metrics.
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 27001, CMMI, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Must be a strong negotiator, able to influence outcomes, resolve conflicts, and build consensus among stakeholders.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
  • Quality-related certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or Lean Six Sigma are highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a government contracting or regulated industry is a plus.
  • Experience conducting internal audits, gap assessments, and supporting external certification efforts.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with government contracting environments and related regulatory standards (e.g., DFARS, NIST) is an advantage.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage quality-focused projects, ensuring deliverables meet defined quality standards and client expectations.
  • Develop and maintain QA/QC plans, procedures, templates, and checklists for use across teams and projects.
  • Coordinate peer reviews, quality inspections, audits, and assessments for work products, deliverables, and processes.
  • Analyze quality metrics and trends to identify areas for process optimization and performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, technical, compliance, and communications) to embed quality practices in all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Track and report on quality control activities, issues, and resolutions.
  • Maintain documentation and records in support of audits, certifications, and compliance standards.
  • Provide training and mentoring on quality standards, policies, and tools as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between project teams and quality stakeholders to resolve quality-related issues and support successful outcomes.
  • Lead, plan, and coordinate all phases of compliance or IT projects such as CMMC/ISO and other relevant frameworks.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and deliverables to support certification and audit readiness.
  • Facilitate internal assessments and gap analyses to identify risks, areas of improvement, and necessary corrective actions.
  • Partner with IT, security, HR, third-party vendors, and operations teams to gather documentation, implement controls, and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Prepare and maintain audit documentation, process workflows, policies, and training materials.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, assessors, and consultants as needed.
  • Track project metrics and report progress regularly to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, process discipline, and risk awareness throughout the organization.
  • Work closely with third-party vendors, suppliers, and partners to ensure compliance with contractual quality requirements and alignment with internal standards.
