Description:

CAD Railway Industries is an ambitious Quebec company, in operation for more than 60 years, specializing in the repair, conversion and reconditioning of rolling railway equipment. Our Calgary site, Caltrax Inc, is the leading full service railcar repair service facility in Western Canada. In business since 1991, we won multiple Top 50 Small and Medium Business Award in recent years. The site is 125,000 sq ft and has a capacity for 180 rail cars onsite for either mechanical, cleaning/blasting and/or painting work.
We are looking for a 5th or 4th Class Power Engineer to join our Sarnia Operations with the right attitude and the willingness to learn to join our team. Our facility is rated as a fourth class plant with a boiler size under 1000 KW.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fourth or Fifth Class Power Engineering Certificate
  • Valve experience considered an asset
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Must be physically able to push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Able to walk, sit, stand and stoop comfortably
  • Computer experience
  • Safety Oriented
  • Must have completed 2000 hours of steam time

    Pay: $24.00-$29.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 - 10 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift
  • Overtime
  • Weekends may be required

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and inspect plant equipment
  • Troubleshoot and perform corrective action
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance
  • Maintain daily log of operation
  • Valve rebuild and maintenance
  • Clean and service railcars
  • Operate wastewater treatment system
  • Operate hand and air tools
  • Handle a variety of chemicals
