Active Education empowers students to grow through movement, play, and social interaction. We support children in developing critical life skills—like conflict resolution, collaboration, and focus—through fun and engaging physical education.
We are actively hiring credentialed teachers ONLY to serve as Physical Education Mentors in an elementary school in the Los Angeles area. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact using your teaching experience in a dynamic, supportive environment.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are specifically seeking educators with a valid California Teaching Credential (K-6, K-9, or K-12), regardless of subject specialty. This is an ideal role for a teacher who enjoys active, hands-on engagement with students and thrives in a playful and purposeful learning atmosphere.

BONUS EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous coaching or youth sports experience
  • Personal background in athletics or active living
  • Prior work with elementary school students
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

This is an in-person, part-time position (30–32 hours/week) during and after school hours. You’ll implement a structured physical activity curriculum that fosters positive behaviors and social-emotional learning.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Leading and organizing structured games and physical activities
  • Teaching students how to engage in sports and cooperative play
  • Promoting student participation and inclusion
  • Modeling and encouraging positive social behaviors
  • Supporting students in resolving conflicts constructively
  • Collaborating with school staff to support a cohesive learning environment
  • Delivering curriculum-based physical education programming
  • Communication with school administration and teachers
