CME Group is currently looking for a Research & Product Development intern to join a supportive and inclusive team, on a hybrid-working basis with three days a week minimum in the London office.
If successful, you will assist the Client Development & Research Division on day-to-day activities in support of product research, including market analysis, data collection, ad-hoc projects as well contributing to content writing. It’s a great opportunity for you to learn both qualitative and quantitative skills in a team-based environment, getting involved in preparing reports and presenting findings, contributing to product development projects across the equity asset class.

The role will involve and require:

  • Creative thinkers able to help build solutions from inception to completion.
  • Handling various data sets, modelling, analytical skills and articulating results.
  • Ability to apply techniques in empirical research, especially time series and panel data econometrics; analyzing large data sets preferred with modelling and optimisation in a practical and challenging context.
  • Assist in producing quantitative signals, impact models and analyze datasets to support improvements of products and beyond
  • Researching crypocurrency and equity indices

Core Skills

  • STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematic background), data science, data collection statistical,
  • Programming: Proficiency and ability to use either Python, R
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Interest in applying mathematical and statistical concepts to real world financial problems and working with complex datasets
  • Ability to articulate findings
  • Team player
  • Some understanding or interest in financial or commodity markets and an interest in a career within the sector
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office product suite (eg Word, Excel, Google)

Education:
Applicants must be pursuing a BSc degree in any STEM / business / finance related subject. Priority will be given to applicants in their penultimate year of study. Note that this placement is to start asap and finish before the next academic year. You must have a UK visa and be in education for six months minimum post completion of the placement
