Third Shift: Monday - Friday, 11pm - 7am
TITLE: Encapsulation Operator A
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Operatemachines that compress powders into nutritional supplement tablets machines that fill powders into gelatin and veggie capsules while following cGMP’s and SOP’s, to prepare tablets for packaging or bulk shipment. The operator is responsible for the quality of the product they produce.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum 4 years of equivalent machine operation experience, prior experience in a pharmaceutical/nutraceutical environment, familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment procedures preferred, proven knowledge of high speed, manufacturing equipment, experience with tablet presses, or encapsulation machines preferred.
  • High School Diploma/Certificate; or two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

Responsibilities
  • Follow sanitary cGMP regulations before coming in contact with raw materials.
  • Set up, operate, and tend machinery and equipment to form tablets of vitamin supplements.
  • Set up, start machines, monitor their operations, test, and adjust machine speeds and actions according to product specifications and operating procedures.
  • Install, align, and lock specified punches, dies, segments, scrapers, or other fixtures.
  • Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and perform routine maintenance of machines such as lubrication, calibration, adjustments, etc.
  • Ensures the quality of the finished product meets all specifications and complies with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), DEA and other regulatory and Safety requirements.
  • Measure finished tablets to verify conformance to weight specifications using scales.
  • Clean and maintain tableting machines, instruments, and work area.
  • Collect samples of finished blend for testing.
  • Record operational and production information on specified cGMP forms.
  • Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas, using moving equipment and hand tools.
  • Observe production and monitoring equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Reach target weights set by cGMP’s with each batch of tablets.
  • Perform maintenance on machines regularly, report any damage to supervisor.
  • Work in shifts that are highly paced and meet deadlines.
  • Inspect machines as well as products to ensure that product has been run correctly.
  • Follows established procedures including standard operating procedures (SOP’s), cGMP, food safety regulations and safety procedures.
  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
