Are you an experienced 7.5T driver looking for a local, non-delivery driving role?
We’re looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Shunt Driver to join our busy delivery operation at our Avonmouth hub and help keep everything moving smoothly behind the scenes.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Shunt 7.5T vehicles/trailers between our clients and our local sites
  • Support warehouse and yard teams with vehicle positioning
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and ensure safety compliance
  • Maintain accurate movement logs and report any vehicle issues
  • Ensure all shunting tasks are completed safely and on time
  • Handling and returning customer returns to the customer service bay and loading bay.
  • Where required possibly helping out with home deliveries if operational needed

ROLE PROFILE

This role is responsible for the delivery and collection of goods safely and efficiently using a 7.5-tonne vehicle, ensuring excellent customer service, full legal compliance, and the protection of goods and vehicle at all times.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle in a safe and legal manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Shunt 7.5T vehicles/trailers between our clients and our local sites
  • Handling/returning customer returns to the customer service bay and loading bay.
  • Support warehouse and yard teams with vehicle positioning
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and ensure safety compliance
  • Maintain accurate movement logs and report any vehicle issues
  • Ensure all shunting tasks are completed safely and on time
  • Following routes efficiently, potentially using maps or GPS, and adjusting for traffic or unexpected delays
  • Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, always providing a professional and courteous service.
  • Comply with UK road traffic laws
  • Ensure you have the correct paperwork for the day.
  • Liaise with the transport office as/when required.
  • Handle goods with care, including fragile, or high-value items.
  • Follow company policies relating to vehicle operation, and customer service.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner – wearing uniform, professional conduct.
  • End of day vehicle check, mileage, fuel
  • Carry out multi-drop and/or scheduled deliveries and collections if there is a requirement due to operational needs
  • Comply with both Unitmovements and IKEA’s health and safety policies.
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: £14.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
