Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and troubleshooting maintenance on production and facility equipment. This role requires strong mechanical skills along with developing knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The technician works with limited supervision and plays a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Repairs Perform preventive maintenance based on schedules and equipment needs Diagnose and repair mechanical components (belts, gears, bearings, seals, chain drives) Conduct basic troubleshooting on electrical systems (motors, switches, relays, sensors) Technical Support Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and diagrams Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and minor fabrication tasks Support troubleshooting of hydraulic and pneumatic systems Operations Support Collaborate with production teams to resolve equipment issues Minimize downtime and improve equipment performance Participate in root cause analysis for recurring issues Safety & Compliance Follow OSHA standards and Lockout/Tagout procedures Perform safety inspections and maintenance on safety systems (e.g., emergency stops, guarding) Maintain a safe and organized work environment Documentation & Systems Maintain accurate maintenance records Update CMMS work orders consistently and thoroughly Team Support Serve as a technical resource for junior maintenance team members Support continuous improvement initiatives Success Metrics Equipment uptime and reliability Response time to maintenance issues Preventive maintenance completion rate Reduction in recurring equipment failures Accuracy of maintenance records Work Environment Manufacturing/production setting Exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures Physical activity including standing, walking, and lifting Requirements High School Diploma or GED 2–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documents Knowledge of OSHA standards and Lockout/Tagout procedures Experience with CMMS or digital work order systems Preferred Qualifications Post-secondary technical training or certification Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
