Job Introduction
East Durham Colleges sixth from department (ED6) is growing, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic and committed A Level English Lecturer to join our expanding SHAPE provision.
Whether your specialism is Language, Literature, or both, this is an opportunity to teach motivated post-16 learners in a high-achieving and well-supported environment. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

• A minimum Level 6 qualification in English
• GCSE-level Maths and English (or equivalent)
• A recognised teaching qualification (Level 5 or above), or willingness to work towards one
• Experience of working with 14–19+ learners, ideally on A Level programmes
• The ability to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons and support learners to achieve strong outcomes
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
