REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate
  • Minimum three (3) years of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance (special considerations will be given for more diverse experience)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong command of both theoretical and practical aspects of aircraft maintenance, with contemporary knowledge and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven, and compliance-oriented educational setting.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized, with the capability to multitask and perform well under pressure.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, a strong work ethic, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong emphasis on customer service in an educational context.
  • Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, exhibiting exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Willingness to work outside of regular shifts as necessary or requested by the Supervisor.

  • Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and offers individualized support to enhance student success.
  • Oversee administrative responsibilities, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
    This position ensures that the aircraft maintenance training program effectively prepares students for careers in aviation, aligning with industry standards and contributing to the overall success of the institution.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach classes on a scheduled basis, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment that fosters student engagement and enhances learning in aircraft maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, and Campus Executive Director to develop and refine curriculum, prepare course materials, and schedule classes, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and laboratory environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly maintained for student use.
  • Establish and maintain accurate academic and attendance records for each student, submitting attendance, grades, evaluations, and other documentation as required by institutional procedures.
  • Proactively notify the Supervisor of any current or potential issues that require immediate attention and implement proven retention techniques to support student success.
  • Complete assigned performance-based teacher education modules, participating in classroom observations and instructor evaluations, and responding to student feedback to enhance instructional effectiveness.
  • Attend and/or lead in-service training sessions, faculty meetings, and other mandatory gatherings to ensure ongoing professional development and collaboration with peers.
  • Assist in managing the inventory of department equipment and supplies, submitting replenishment requests to the Supervisor or appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Monitor student attendance closely, alerting the Supervisor to any absences, particularly at the first, third, and fifth occurrences, to address potential retention issues.
  • Complete other tasks and projects as assigned by the Supervisor, contributing to the overall success of the aircraft maintenance program.
