Job Summary:
The A/V Technician ensures the safety, proper maintenance, repair, set-up & technical work of any stage set, banquet, or convention space.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for light/sound reinforcement of all stage presentations, conventions or special projects.
  • Responsible for exterior/interior signage.
  • Provides support for televisions/monitors throughout property.
  • Ensures regular maintenance of lighting and sound equipment.
  • Provides support for visiting lighting or sound engineers, should such assistance be necessary.
  • Ensures overall organization and cleanliness of workspace areas.
  • Provides consistent reports to the A/V Manager of any problems regarding A/V technology.
  • Provide 4- Star/4-Diamond guest service to all guests and internal guests.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills both in person as well as on the telephone. Computer skills, excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of classified information. Ability to tactfully and diplomatically deal with the public and staff. Must possess excellent business sense and high professional ethics. Must possess a high regard for guest service and team member relations.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 2-3 years convention and/or theatre experience (specific involvement in set-up of scenery, sound, lighting & audio/visual systems). Hospitality experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with DMX protocol, Grand Ma, AVO pearl and/or other sound/lighting software systems.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read, write & speak English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively with guests or team members of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
