The University of Iowa is seeking to an Audiovisual (A/V) Technology Coordinator to join the Learning Spaces Technology team, reporting to the Classroom and Audiovisual Support Team Leader. This A/V Technology Coordinator will play an important role in supporting the University’s mission by coordinating the maintenance, inventory, and support of all A/V resources and services across campus. This position requires a dynamic individual with basic experience in audiovisual and computer technologies, strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for ensuring campus facilities are equipped with the technology necessary for institutional success. Duties include, but are not limited to: · Triaging A/V support and classroom incidents · Coordinating warranty support for A/V and computer equipment with vendors and local service providers · Assisting with equipment lifecycle planning for campus classrooms and meeting spaces · Leading small, goal-oriented projects involving A/V and IT equipment · Relocating technology assets to appropriate locations across campus This position has a project assignment of two years and is classified as a “specified term appointment” as an IT Support Consultant (PIC2) with full fringe benefits. This is a 100%25 onsite position. This position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: · Any combination of education and experience that is equivalent to a total of typically 5 years of experience supporting and configuring audiovisual technology and/or low-voltage electronics. This could include: o A high school diploma or GED and typically 5 years of experience. o An associate’s degree or technical diploma and typically 3 years of experience. o A bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to the position and typically 1 year of experience. · Professional experience (typically 1-3 years) tracking, organizing and supporting computers and audiovisual equipment. · Experience using an ITSM/CMDB/ITAM toolset (Cherwell, Halo, ServiceNow, etc.) for tracking support incidents and equipment inventory. · Experience leading/coordinating small IT projects. · Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills. · Excellent interpersonal, customer service and teamwork skills (including with technical peers). · Physical ability to routinely move and transport audiovisual and computer equipment up to 50 pounds. · Valid US driver’s license with the ability to meet the University of Iowa’s Fleet Safety Requirements: https://opsmanual.uiowa.edu/administrative-financialand-facilities-policies/risk-management-insurance-and-loss-prevention-5 Desirable Qualifications: · AVIXA CTS certification. · Experience supporting audiovisual technology in a higher education or enterprise setting.
